I am still in Monterrey and will be until the 20th. He wanted me to stay 16 days since he was removing so much so I added a few days just to be sure . Having the other two patients down here has really helped a lot. Jessica is flying out in the morning and seems to really be doing good . (Yeah but she was the kid of the crowd  -- but still she is getting around really great to be so soon since having surgery !! ) And Debbie will get to leave a few days after me so it worked out really well with the timing .

I am not sleeping to good but I can not blame that on my surgery  -- I have been like that even before our trip to Vegas. (It was great then because I could stay out all night and still be ready to go the next morning -- but right now I could really use some extra sleep !!)

However -- look at it this way  -- we are only going to have to do this once in our lifetime  -- and now it is over with !!

And I guess we are like a lot of the others  -- it will just take us time for our bodies to get back to normal !!

Be good and try to take it easy !!   Tell Shell I said "HI" when you see her again.

Yes glad you stayed.  You will be more comfortable there than at home.  Yes having others there at the same time makes a big difference.  Not so lonesome.

Yes once in our lives.  Cool

And I will tell Ms Shell you said hi.  I am going to call her.

Hi Cindy

Glad to hear you are doing so well! Drains are the worst necessary evil in my experience! I totally agree....HATE THE DRAINS!!

Hope the recliner gives you more comfort to rest and get the sleep you need to continue to recover!

I done told you girl, those drains are a pain!  I don't even really know why, but they just make life difficult.  You have to consider your every move, makes it hard to bathe, hard to get dressed...just everything.  And heaven help you if you get it caught and give yourself a yank.  That pain will bring you to your knees.  Everyone said they hurt so much when removed and I braced myself for pain and it was nothing.  I mean I'm sitting there with my eyes squeezed shut saying 'let me know when it's over' and he says 'it's already done'.   I think if you get a bit of infection it can be painful, but otherwise (at least mine) weren't bad at all.  I literally had a little celebration the day I got my last one out, which I believe was 10 days post op.

Your day will come, and it will make living, sleeping, everything so much easier!

Yes you did tell me that.  Can't wait till I have to lug these drains around.  I have one pretty heavy drain.  So put it in a canvas bag.  Well everytime I get up my dogs 3 maltipoos think they get to go somewhere because they think it my purse.  LOL  Poor girls.

That is funny and sad at the same time.  You'll look back and laugh one day, I promise, but I know it won't be any time soon.  Just hang in there.  It will all be worth it, I promise!

Hi Cindy-

Wow-- 6 drains!!  I can hardly handle the 2 I have never mind 4 more.  You are a trooper for sure!!  I am sorry you are having trouble sleeping... it is a challenge, but it sounds like you are planning appropriately.  Are you able to nap?  Napping has saved me a few days when I didn't sleep well the night before.

I hope you get some rest and get a few more drains out quickly.

Take care-

Susan

Just trying to pass the time.  Hard to sit still for me for sure.

Thanks for your support Susan

Ugggh....aren't the drains a pain.  I felt so much better once they were out.  I had 4 and they were all taken out 8 days post op.  2 of them I felt nothing, but the other 2 hurt like hell.

Hope you can sleep better on the recliner.

Rachelle
