Hi Cindy! It is great to hear that you have at least gotten a couple of taken out! I had 5 drains total, and I am down to 1 now. It is the one that works for my tummy and still produces alot! I am actually going home tomorrow, almost 1 week earlier than planned. I feel really good, and I am hoping to have a decent trip back home. 11 1/2 hours of flight is no fun!

Hi Jessica,
Glad to hear you are doing well and going home early. Good luck with that flight....YIKES! Do yourself a favor and call the airline and request wheelchair assistance. It will safe you from getting bumped all around the airport........
Best wishes

Hi Ruth,
Airline has already been informed to have a wheelchair for me in Houston. That should be the only place I need one because I will definitely need help getting through customs with my 3 bags. I was told that the will help me with all of this. I sure hope so! I am just glad that I only change planes once!

He said that i should be able to take it out on my own, but I also have 2 friends that are nurses. I just have to cut the 1 stitch and then start pulling gently to get the drain out. He said this one should only be in for another week, maybe less.
I hope you get yours out soon~

No, he said that I can have my primary care Dr remove them because my aftercare is already in place, but I told him that I am comfortable enough that I could remove it by myself. He said that if I want to, I could do that because I have had drains before and have also seen him take my other 4 out as well. I specifically asked him to show me how he does it. I have to say that it is not uncommon for people to take out their own drains. I haven't heard much of it on the OH board, but I have heard plenty of it on makemeheal.com. It is not very difficult. I also have 2 friends that are both nurses that are also more than capable to remove a drain. I will be keeping in contact with Dr Sauceda everyday on the progress and measurements of fluid in my drain, and he will tell me when it is safe to have it removed.
Charming, I really don't understand what you have against me or Dr Sauceda. Everything I say, you try to read more in to it or contradict it. I have never done anything to you, and I have no idea what you have against me or Dr Sauceda.

Truly, I have not one thing against you or anyone else here. But my drains ... all four ... seemed to extend all the way around my body, and they were EXCRUCIATINGLY painful to have removed (though the pain lasted only about a minute or two). I cannot for the life of me imagine performing a procedure like that on myself, and probably would have gone to my grave with them embedded in my body before being able to pull of a feat like that one.

I had 5 total, which 2 of them hurt when they came out. It did hurt, but I guess the pain was nothing compared to the fat grafting in my butt, and the drain was a quick pain too. I have such a high pain tolerance though, so that must have something to do with it as well. Here I am with over 800 stitches in my body, have been on just motrin since day 4, and now I am flying back to Hawaii tomorrow 6 days early. I am lucky that I do recover fast and can handle pain pretty well.
