Approved for panni and abdominal skin removal!

Just got my notice that I was approved!  I could use a LBL as well but that would be $7500 out of pocket.  My surgery won't be until February because my insurance requires 18 months out of RNY.  I am so excited.  I have been scouring this site and looking at your great plastics success stories.  Thanks for your inspiration!

CONGRATS !!!!  YOU MUST BE SO EXCITED !!!!!  I am actually waiting on insurance to see if they approve it or not it has been 3 weeks. How long did it take you to get approved. It is funny we almost have the sam surgery date I had mine 07-31-2008 Justine

Cool!  You just had your surgery a week after mine!  It has been about two weeks since my consultation.  I will keep my fingers crossed for your approval soon.  Did they take pictures and send them to your insurance?  That was humiliating but it must have worked. haha  Looked like an elephant with all the stuffing taken out!  Not a pretty sight.  Marsha

          YES, they took the pictures I think that has to be the most humilitating thing that could happen to a human being.......I also have BCBS....I pray I get approved mine and your stats are about the same I started off at 248 and now I go between 133-134....I also look like a deflated elephant.........Not pretty at all...........I think the waiting for the approval is what is killing me once I know if I was approved or denied I can move on....Yes, please keep your fingers crossed for me. Wow, I'm jealous...133 pounds.  That's great.  I can't seem to get below the mid 140's.  I am short too, only 5'1" so I would really like to get down to about 125.  Oh, well, maybe after plastics!

Thanks so much for posting. I have the same insurance, through the Federal government and was told it is on a case by case basis. I see the PS this Thursday for the first time. I am 2 1/2 years out from Lap-Band surgery and at least I will be mentally prepared for the picture taking. Goody goody! Any other criteria that you had to meet for BC BS to approve you? Thanks again!
