Considering plastics
I am considering having:
1) breast lift w/ skin removal and implants (actual breast tissue remaining is walnut sized beneath all the extra skin)
2) tummy tuck w/ lip (because every bit of fat I have left is in my tummy which was partially ruined with my first child, completely ruined with my second child and now unrecognizable as a tummy after being obese then losing all the weight)
3) inner thigh lift (completely ruined with stretch marks after 2 children, all the weight gain, then the subsequent weight loss)
I have just had my initial consult yesterday and was quoted a "high" estimate of $12,000 for EVERYTHING (pre-op & post-op care, any "touch-ups" that need done to fix "dog-ears" that may develope, etc - EVERYTHING). I am now in the process of trying to borrow the $$$ to get this done. So I guess I'm past "considering" it really and more to "commited" - just contingeant upon financing.
My question is mainly about recovery. I do NOT like to linger and want to get back to work, up & about, etc ASAP after surgery. So my questions/concerns are about recovery time/logistics/etc.
Have any of you had that exact combination of procedures? How long was your recovery time? When did you go back to work? Were you really tired for a long time afterwards? If so, how long did the lethargy last? How long did you hurt/ache? How long were you swollen?
For those of you that had the inner thigh lift, I understand that wound infections or split stitches are more problematic in those areas than others. Did you experience any of those troubles?
Do any of you have tips for a quicker recovery?
'm not looking for just "follow your surgeon's advice comments - because I will do that regardless. I'm looking for some personal insights from people who have been through it OR from something maybe your surgeon advises that you feel worked really well that perhaps I could ask my surgeon about incorporating into my care - especially if it deals with a aiding in faster recovery.
Thanks
Wen

Gotta tell you that $12,000 is not high for all that. I paid that for my TT and breast lift revision (no implants, no reduction). My Inner thigh surgery will cost almost $8,000 alone.
I have lots of tips and details of my personal experience from each surgery and recovery I've had posted on my blogs on my profile...feel free to check them out (you'll have to click on the archives for some of the postings).
Best wishes!
