Having surgery noticable to others 3 weeks out ??

This isn't too formal so I could even get by with some nice sweats without anyone having 2nd thoughts.

I think you will be able to attend the dinner.  You aren't planning on hosting it?  You will not be able to do that.  Arrive as it starts and plan on leaving early.  Saying that your back is sore.  Good luck, Lorisving early.  Plan on having a sore back that day.  LOL  Good luck, Loris

Based solely on my own healing I would say at 3 weeks you should probably be ok.  I was standing pretty much straight by day 10 or 12.  I remember the surgeon's nurse was surprised at how straight I was when I went for my follow up appointment.  BUT after sitting for more than a 20 mins or so I do start out a little bent but straighten up quickly.

I think Mary's suggestion to forewarn your family not to say anything at the gathering would be a good idea.  Tell them to just be quiet about it all.  
The VS bra is a good idea too.

One thing to keep in mind it is very common after the TT to be swollen at the 3 week mark so your pre-op clothes might not fit you. 

One thing you need to figure out is how the "booty" is going to feel sitting on a dinning room chair for an extended period of time.....it might get a bit uncomfortable.

I'm having my butt and legs done on Dec 2nd and then hosting family for 5 days at the end of the month......... should be fun.  Thankfully I now my niece will be a big help in the kitchen.

Good to know I should be okay. I am actually hosting this but its more of a family pitch in thing and hubby does BBQ tritip so I won't have to be running around too much. I will just make sure everything is mostly done and park my booty on a chair and relax (well  try). I will have my older son and daughter there for additional help so we just need an action plan.. :-).

PS - I meant to add that the results of the TT are immediately noticeable.  Soooo if you had a large amount of skin taken off I think your quests will notice it so be prepared on how you'll respond to it.  Maybe you can say something like "aren't spanx wonderful" and then quickly as them to pass the sweet potatoes....
