The post asking for money for boob...

Yesterday, I saw this post from a woman who wanted us to donate towards her boobjob.

I am guessing it was removed by the moderator because it broke the rules. I surely hope so.

With all of us working hard to lose our weight, struggling to decide if having WLS, having our own health issues due to out obesity, what would make her think she is more deserving than any one of us?

Did any of you happen to see this post, and what did you think of it?

I do wish her well, but maybe she needs to do what we are doing...saving up, one dollar at a time.

I saw it and didn't really think it was appropriate to post here. Everyone here is going thru the same thing and either saved up to pay for it or was able to borrow the money for someone, we all are making sacrifices to do this. I understand the feeling of wanting things fixed but w/ all the other things in her life right now it should not be a priority. And it takes a lot of nerve to come here to ask others who are paying their own way to give you money to do this, just don't get it.

There are so many people on OH who are in the same situation and we could be giving to everyone. If I won the lotto or came into millions of dollars I would love to set up a fund for people in that type of situation to help them out (not necessarily give it to them but loan it at a low rate).

Yep, I read that post.  Was pretty surprised by that and glad that it was removed.  I didn't feel comfortable replying to that because I tend not to write negative posts.  I totally understand how she is feeling and wish I could set up a charity myself for my own plastics  but of course I never would.  At this point I am so much healthier than I have been in years with the exception of some yet to be explained bradycardia.   I I thought it was very bold of her to ask for dotations and I remember when people gave items to that stalkerval lady and it came back to bite them in the butt.

I am going to have to finance my plastics with a loan from my 401K and I'll probably have to work another year or two more than I had planned on.  If I could work another job, then I probably would - still might do that.  We all have to find our own way.   If I can't come up with the money then I guess I am just SOL. And so is she.

OK, I am glad I wasnt alone in feeling it was a bit off kilter. I am quite a compassionate person but felt very put off by that post and just wanted to make sure It wasnt just me feeling that was ballsy.

I was totally resigned to NOT having plastics due to the cost and risk and all that....but found a way to manage to do it....and will have to live leaner for much longer but it is a choice I am willing to make

So Red, what was the deal with stalkerval. Her name rings a bell, but I dont remember anything happening with her. Whutup??

I hope you don't mind me asking how did you come up with the money to do it? I am just trying to get ideas to get mine done. I am still working on the insurance company. Thanks

I had saved a bunch of money for dental implants over the past several years only to find that they cant do them because my bone has receeded too much...so some is being covered by that...the rest is from scraping...selling unwanted junk on ebay and craigslist AND going to Mexico to get the best price for the work,

Good luck!

I hope you don't mind what was some of the prices in Mexico and what did you have done and were you pleased with the results. Any problems in Mexico with the plastics. Sorry so many questions. Thanks

Having served in the Army myself for over 20 years and served in war as a single (widowed) mother of two, I felt rather offended when she said she was the victim of a bad economy.  Her husband is fully employed with lots of benefits in the Military whi*****lude free family healthcare, free living quarters and rations.  Using her husband's service to solicit sympathy from other members here was just plain wrong.

I worked three jobs to pay for my plastics.  And I didn't have any free work done by overburdened military plastic surgeons who were busy taking care of the wounded from two wars, even if I was entitled.
