HELP!!! Disappointed with scarring

I had bracioplasty with BA last March, and the scars on my arms are thick and dark along most of the length of my arms.  Post operatively,I followed my surgeons instructions and kept the incisions moist with ****a butter and when I was completely healed, I used silicone strips for 6 months with little improvement,  Anyone have recommendations?

I found Mederma worked great.  Also a "compression garment" specially made for the arms made a big difference for me (not the ace bandages).  FYI - the silicone strips did nothing for my arms...they would not stay on so that's why I purchased a compresson garment.  You can still start the mederma and perhaps if you get a compression garment for the arms and wear it at night it might help......could be worth trying...
