Never been so excited about being able to ride my bicycle

Sounds silly I'm sure but I just got the go ahead to resume riding my bicycle.  I've never enjoyed exercise....I hate being on the treadmill....tedious and boring....can't wait for it to be over.  But getting on my bicycle I really enjoy.  It doesn't feel like exercise....I feel free and connected to nature when I'm riding.  Thirty - Forty mins on the treadmill feels like an eternity to me but I can ride for 70-90 mins and still want more!

So I'm excited because tomorrow morning I can hop on my bicycle and fly........

congrats!  How long did you have to wait to get back on it?  Were'nt you right before me?  I went in a week after surgery and I was sure the PS asst told me I could do my elliptical again already.  I thought she was surely crazy.  I still haven't been on it.  I still get tired kind of easy.  I cleaned today and had to lay down for a few mins.

Hi Kim!
Yep I had mine done 1 day before you.

I could ride a stationary bike after 2 weeks but not my road bike.  It's riding outside that has me all jazzed.  :-)

I get tired fairly easily too.  I did a pretty workout on the treadmill yesterday (BORING) and then cooked a big breakfast, made the bed, swept the floors, took a shower and needed to lay down to rest.   We have to remember it was major surgery we had....it will take time to fully recoup.

How is your healing going?  Mine has been really good...I just have one small spot I noticed a couple days ago that is a little open/raw but I keep it covered with a gauze pad and us antibacterial cream on it.  Swelling in my legs is way down....just a little left.....have some puffiness in the lower tummy but that will just take time.

Take care!

Ruth,
I started back to work this week.  I only have 1 2 year old so I have had a really easy week.  I should be back with a full house next week.  I hope I can handle it.

I am healing ok.  I have open sores under both arms and under my right breast.  I just wa**** every day with antibacterial soap.  Thats all I know to do!  My arms are doing much better.  They are still sore but better.  They were the hardest part of my surgeries By far!

I'm really swollen in my middle.  I look like a square.  I really hope it goes down.  I'm really flat from the side but from the front, I don't like it!

I'm glad you are doing well!  Thats what I like to hear!

That's great!!! I haven't even had surgery yet and I can't wait to get back to exercise! LOL! I'm more worried about that then I am going under the knife. Anyway, besides being good for you, I'm sure the biking will be a great stress releiver. It's a great time of year to get outside.
