New here and a question--Xpost from RNY board
Hi everyone, I have lurked here for a few weeks but post regularly on the RNY board. I had RNY 7/21/08 and am at my plastic surgeon's goal for plastics. I posted my question on RNY but have a feeling I'll get a better response here. So my plastic surgeon's office called today to say that my insurance (Horizon BCBS NJ) wants me to write an appeal letter for my panniculectomy. I have already submitted pics of skin breakdown and documentation from my PCP of medications prescribed, skin breakdown, dermatology referrals, etc. Just not sure what tales of woe to include in the appeal letter. Anyone have experience with writing one, and what did you include in yours? Yes, my husband is a trained insurance professional, but as usual he is no help whatsoever. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. TIA!
