Healing

Oh trust me I was the before picture where there was enough skin to put on 3 turkeys.  I just wish the surgeon would have more informed me of the after swelling.  I had 10 pounds of skin removed.  I am actually flat well minus my boobs of course thats thrilling to me.  I had no great expectations of becoming Miss America it was just when my mom took the binder off today and I looked in the mirror and I looked like I had balls I almost died.  Atleast I know its normal otherwise I thought I was gonna hide in a corner a NEVER go on a date.

Sorry you had such a shock.  I remember after one of my procedures I kinda freaked because I looked "deformed".  I thought something went wrong and was shook up.  But it was swelling and after healing things look very normal.  It is hard to tell early on so (I know it's hard) be patient and see how things look in a month or 2.

good luck

It would have been nice if the surgeon just would have told me.  Then my mother and I wouldn't have been freaking out.  I am sure things will look 100 times better than having 10 pounds of just skin hanging on me,  I just really wish he would have told me hey dork EVERYTHING is gonna swell.  I would have been like oh ok.

aw i am waiting for my "caretaker" to wake up.  I can'y wait for that 10 minutes of bliss when i can breathe.  I  have bern trying to ice the area to help a lil but the biggest help will be getting the drains out tomorrow.  especially since under shirts it looks like i have 4 boobs .

So how did any of you figure out pants sizes still being swollen?

I have just kind of figured out what size I think looks good on me now and just work with it.  I've gone down 2 sizes but I'm hoping to go down one more size once the swelling is totally gone.  It seems my swelling sits right where my waist is and even higher on bad swelling days. On those days I have to unbutton my pants and use a rubber band to give myself some room.  Most of my pants are either low rise or mid rise so it doesn't cut right into my most swollen area.  I still have some of my larger sizes that I have as backup but then my butt and leg areas look too baggy in those.  I usually wear those around the house.
