Hi I am new to this, I have some questions about plastic surgery and if insurance would cover it?
A lower body lift ( not sure if that is what it is called?)  My butt and thighs are really bad, does insurance cover that kind of surgery?  And a breast lift? If anyone can give me any information that would be great . Thank you

What if anything is covered depends on your policy.   Many plans do cover at least the panniculectomy or TT.  It is rare that the thighs are covered but not unheard of.  Generally however, to get any plastics covered you are going to have document medical necessity.  Take a look at this article Dr. L wrote I think it will answer some of your questions.  The insurance article starts on page five.  http://www.drlomonaco.com/files/NeWeigh_2005.pdf

Usually, insurance companies will pay to remove excess skin IF the excess skin is causing a medical problem.  Most often, it's excess skin on the stomach.  And it's covered IF you are having rashes or infections caused by the excess skin that are not responding to medication.  You usually need several months worth of documentation from your doctor, showing that you have gone to see the doctor several times and tried several different medications with no improvement.

You'll need to check with your insurance company, though, to find out what your particular policy covers.
