Go ahead a get a passport now. With the holidays coming up there will probably be a rush before long of people applying for them .  That way you will not have to pay the extra fee to speed it up.

Thanks for the tip! I need to find my birth cert. now....ugh....I had it when I went to Mexico for WLS but dont have a clue where I put it..

I just applied and received my Passport back in 10 days!  It was really fast!  I try to apply as soon as possible though...you really never know exactly how long it may take.

Was this your first time applying? I read that I have to do it in person..cant do it on internet. Did you do it in person?

If it's your first time applying you need to go to a postoffice that has a passport center.  Take your birth certificate with you and two passport pictures.  Walgreens can take them for you for the least amount of money.
