My brachioplasty is October 29, pre-op appointment is Oct 15. So I'm asking for any experienced folks to chime in: do this, don't do that, buy this, don't waste your money, etc. Anyone?

Your best to ask your doctor. If there is one thing i have learned is the differences among doctors.  My doctor is unusual because he doesn't use drains.  I have had no problems with fluid build up or open wounds. Some doctors recommend compression garments and mine didn't.  My tummy tuck and breast lift is 3 months old( I used a binder) and my arm lifts 1 1/2 weeks old.  For my arms my doctor is just putting abdominal bandages on with tape to hold it and nothing for compression. I am healing fantastically.  I would hate to see you go out and buy things your doctor is not going to recommend . You must have chose them because you trust them so listen to what they say.

Best of luck with your choice and a speedy recovery

Hi,

I had my arm lift in July.  I would recommend that you use your arms as little as possible in the beginning.  I made the mistake of trying to do too much and the scar on my right arm is worse than the one on my left because I moved it more.

Ask your dr questions!!!  I suffered from nerve pain and I thought they could not do anything about it, and I was wrong.  I am on nerve pain medication and it works great!  If you think something is wrong, just ask them.  Other than that, this surgery was pretty easy for me.  You'll do great.  Keep us posted, and let us know you are doing.
