Xpost: almost finalized PS arrangements!
Well, after a couple of months of research, two local PS surgeon consults, and one e consult with a PS in Mexico, I've come to some decisions. First, let me just give the disclaimer that I will be eating government cheese and working 12 jobs for the next three years to pay back the money that surgery will cost. Now that we've established that I am not rational about the money issue, we can move on to the good stuff. Frankly, I spent my fat years feeling self conscious about nudity in front of others, and now, I can't stand to be naked around my own "girls". I wouldn't trade it for being fat ever, but if I can fix it, I don't see why I shouldn't.
I decided to use a mexican plastic surgeon for a lot of my work, Dr. Sauceda. Everyone seems happy with his work from the PS boards, and he's been very accomodating and attentive. Also, his costs were half that of the cheaper local surgeon, and he covers hotel for 12 days, and reimburses airfare up to $600. I will be getting a tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation, arm lift and lipo with him. I'm scheduled for Novmeber 13th.
Tentatively, I will get a spiral thigh lift with Dr. Agha locally next year. I'm scheduled for February 23rd. It's more money that I want to pay, but with his procedure, I avoid the big scar down the leg and get good results. Other surgeons don't do the same procedure.
I'm really scared to have the recovery time- that means no exercise. I'm just hoping that I can "beef up" my muscles in the 6-7 weeks before my procedures, and hopefully lose 5 lbs if I work really hard (brining me to 145 lbs). That way, if I lose some muscle in the six weeks before I can exercise again, its not as bad. ALso, I figure if I am incapactiated and only have a suitcase full of protein poweder, I can't do that much food damage in Mexico. THere's a McDonald's across the street, but that makes me violently ill.
Anyway, I'm REALLY nervous, especially about how my scars may heal, but I also am SOOO looking forward to looking "normal" in my clothes: no muffin top, no padded bras...just me and my clothes, spanx free. Who knows. I may even end up with the guts to wear a bikini in my back yard :)
Well, if anyone has any questions, shoot. FYI, for reference, I'm 100 lbs from my highest weight, and down 83 lbs since surgery.

I am so happy for you! May I ask how much the spiral lift will cost? I would like one from him someday.
Thanks

Congrats Katie
There are lots of restaurants around the hotel including Applebees, an Italian restaurant (good food) and several others in the little mall next store to the hotel. Two of the restaurants deliver to the hotel. You'll do fine on the food.

Applebees delivers and then another restaurant I can't remember the name of right now.
I ate at the Applebees a few times and the food was fine, the same for the other places. If there is a place you have a question about ask Dr S, he'll tell if you should clear of a place. But the food I had was fine, well let me be perfectly honest, the clinic food is not that hot. But outside of that everyhting I ate was good.

Hi DW,
Thanks. The spiral thigh lift is a little different than the medial thigh lift. In the medial lift, the scar is in the groin, but most impacts the insdie front of the thigh. With the spiral lift, the cut goes from the groin, all the way around your thigh underneath you butt crease. The only part that's not affected is the outer portion of your thigh, which can be improved with an extended TT. A lot more skin can be excised with the spiral lift, and a lot of lipo can be performed in the lower thigh, whereas in the MTL, it would cause addtional skin sagging.
Anyway, I sure did consider the MTL with Dr. Sauceda!! Especially because I only want one recovery. THanks again for your message.

Hi Kat,
After hearing you describe the difference, I emailed Dr Sauceda because I am also getting a thigh lift. He told me that my scars will start in the groin area and go all the way down underneath my thigh and stops where my butt begins. I thought they were the same thing too. Thank goodness I am getting a LBL at the same time, so it should take care of the rest.
I am so excited for you! It is hard to believe that I will be on the surgery table 1 week from tomorrow!

You will have to have 3 labs done within 6 weeks of surgery, and they are CBC, PT, and PTT. You need to up your protein intake by drinking at least 1 shake a day starting at 1 month before surgery. If you already drink 1 shake per day already, increase it by at least 1 more. He will ask you to stop taking your multivitamin and any supplement you take that has Vitamin E in it, 2 weeks before surgery. That is pretty much it!
