Swelling
When does the swelling stop. I don't swell up really bad but when I do swell it hurts like hell. I will be 3 week post extended tt on Friday and was wondering how long am I going to have to deal with the swelling issue. Will I stop swelling about 3 months? It's going on 3 weeks and I still have both of my drain tube. Any advise would help. I'm sitting here at work about to cry from the swelling. Don't want to take pain pills because they make me sleepy. Help my ya'll.
You are still early out so swelling is totally normal. I'm sure you will hear this from others, but swelling can last for months. I am 3.5 months out and still swell to a certain degree. I was on the go all day on my feet till about 9pm last night and was pretty swollen by the time I went to bed. I still wear some sort of compression garment every day.

Wow you went back to work already? I had my surgery on 8/24 and I am due to return to work on 10/19, 8 weeks post-op. Back to your question. I am 5 wks post-op today and I still have swelling and pain around my waist from the muscles tightening. I take Tylenol liquid at least twice a day for pain management. I noticed yesterday the swelling is much less than a few days ago, so I can tell you that it will get better.

Hang on the ride has just begun..........
The swelling can, and probably will last for a few months. I'm 4 weeks post-op tomorrow and am still swollen in my thighs and butt (only a little in my tummy,,,,I don't really count it). For some reason all my swelling has settled in my upper thighs and butt.
When you get home try to lay down for a while with your legs elevated as high as you get them, it really helps me with the swelling.
I am finding that drinking green tea with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice is helping too.....I drink 4-5 cups a day and I've noticed on those days I am less swollen.
Hope you get relieve soon

Everbody heals differently. I had my TT with a BL/BA on January 16th, and I STILL swell occaisionally. Not nearly as bad as I did in the beginning, but every once in a while I swell up. I'd say the majority of my swelling lasted for about 4-6 months.
Hang in there and don't over do it as that's what can cause some of the swelling.

It was nine or so months before the swelling really stopped for me.
The new surgeon for my thigh, arm, and breast lift said that it could last a while due to the whole lymphatic system upset by the surgery....
I take some OTC diuretics sometimes to help.
But the "Swell Hell" is well known and documented. Hang in, it will stop eventually.
