So far so good, am sleeping on a bed with many pilows propping me up and under my knees. Pain has been kept under cotrol with percoset. I atill have nausea though so have been continuing taking gravol every 4 hours. I am hoping now that I am eating a bit more that will help. Itchiness has started so I will take benedryl when i can't stand it any more. I am up 6 lbs from pre op weight and I also know this is from water retention. Not sure how much was removed from me, I was so out of it/high post op that I forgot to ask my surgeon.

They didn't have to use mesh for the hernia repair, the muscle tightening was enough, and I am thrilled.

I 'm waiting for the really bad pain to kick in, if this is as bas as it gets I will be so happy, I am anticipating it will get a bit wrose when my nerves start waking up.

I have 4 drains and they aren't bothering me at all, it just would be really nice to shower. I see my surgeon Tuesday and hopfully will get a few removed.

Bev I am so happy to know you are doing so well.  I hope the pain fairies keep your pain at a manageable level.

Thanks Red. Yeah the tailbone pain is really driving me crazy. Weird thing is I can get into a bed ok but a recliner seems way more scary and harder. I will give it a try tomorrow.

Alice, it's honestly not as bad as i expected. i forgot to take into account that at my last surgery (wls) I was twice the weight I am now. Makes a big difference in mobility and bounce back!

It sounds like you're on your way!!! I think everyday only gets better, not worse. There will be uncomfortable moments but I think the worst is over....congrats!!

I'm so glad you are doing well, Bev. I also think the worst pain is the first few days. After that it just gradually got better for me. I hope everything continues to go smooth for you!

Glad you are doing well.  I'm sure it will only get better.  I never experienced any zaps when my nerves were waking up.  I just gradually got sensation back without any pain.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!
