 I wondered, too.  I assume it's a technical hiccup.

Hmm... This is a good warning against Obamacare, in my opinion.

Actually, this is not true.  With my husband being in the military for 22 years now, we are pretty much in a socialized medical system.  I have nothing bad to say about the care I have received.  I spent over 6 weeks in the hospital with my twin pregnancy, lost a child at no fault of their, BUT they saved his twin.  It was less than a 3 % chance of him surviving, but the amazing Dr's helped save my baby.He was born 13 weeks early at 27 1/2 weeks, and he was in the NICU for over 8 weeks, and he got the best care in the world.  Guess how much we paid for this care?  NOT ONE CENT!  He was in therapies for months, saw developmental specialists, etc, and he is now a normal 5 year old that is the #1 student in his class.  I have had 2 weight loss surgeries, lapband and then revision to the sleeve, and I never paid a dime.  I had one of the most caring and committed Dr's you can find, and all this is in a socialized medical care setting.  I went in for my 1st consult for WLS in late January/early February 2008, and I had my first surgery by April 16th, 2008.  I also have done 3 IVF cycles where I did have to pay some out of pocket, but nothing even close to what I would have paid in the private sector.  I have had a grapefruit size tumor removed, and I had it taken out 1 week after they found it.  I also already an appointment made to see my weight loss Dr after I get back from Mexico, and they know where I am going.  He will then refer me to a plastic surgeon if I have any troubles.  Doesn't sound too bad for a socialized medical system to me.

Hi Laura --

I am so sorry that all of this happened to you.  I have met Dr. Quiroz, and he seemed like a very nice man, but the issues you posted are exactly the ones that concern me.

How did this resolve in the end -- how do you feel and/or look now?

If you had it to do over again, what would you do differently?  Are there doctors in your area who might agree to follow a PS patient from another country, if it was pre-arranged?

I am one of those  happy Dr Sauceda Mexico patients and have had an awesome experience. Sorry that your was not the same Charming. My PC was very supportive in my decision. I am blessed to have had absolutely no complications. It is a personal decision and as many have noted, if you are unable to receive support at home then it is something to consider.

You can be absolutely anywhere, in any hospital, in any part of the world, with any doctor and have a great experience or a horrible experience.

And Jessica WELL PUT! I am not only a 20 year retired Air Force daughter I am 20 year retired Army wife and have received great medical care as well, some of the best to be had. As retirees we pay next to nothing for this great care!

Hatorade is very fattening and what happened to Tony's post?
