Anything I need to remember to ask?I
I finally have an appointment with a great surgeon in my area for Breast reduction and tummy tuck. I plan on asking him about a lift/augmentation at the same time.
Is there anything you wish you had known before you went under the knife that I need to ask about?
How long will I need realistically to recover - I know the doc will give me his ideas but I want the advice of those who have been there and done that. My DS surgeon told me two weeks, I ended up needing 4. I just want the real story. Thanks.

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

I know everyone is different, but my PS was much easier for me than my open DS. There's just something about being on liquids and the whole not eating along with the recovery with open WLS that just messed with my mind. The pain wasn't nearly as bad as I expected especially if you take your pain pills on schedule. Makes a world of difference.
I can't think of anything I forgot to ask only because I had researched PS for 2 years before I actually went under the knife! It's amazing how much you learn on here and other websites. I took 6 weeks off but I could have gone back in 3 or 4 weeks if I had to. I would get so tired by the afternoon since my bursts of energy were in the mornings. I'd be up and down and then all of a sudden, it hit me. I had to stop and rest. Even at 6 weeks I would get tired but it got better every day. I did have an area between my butt cheeks that was being a little stubborn healing so my doc wanted me to take it easy so it helped having the full 6 weeks. Somehow I think the results with PS is just so amazing that we manage to forget the pain associated with it the further out we get!
