Hi!
I had a lot of skin above my belly button.  It was explained to me that if I did a traditional TT I would still have the roll and muffin top.  Soooo I decided to have the Anchor Cut or Fleur De Lis cut.  Yes I have now have a scar running down my stomach but I have a flat stomach and a nice hour glass shaped waist which I would not have if I didn't do the anchor cut.
So far as just doing the Panni..........I would say you will be disappointed and as the Dr said perhaps it would be better to wait a little while to get the best results.  We all want it all done right away (I did and still do) but patience has paid of for me.
If you can work on getting the funds together to pay for the tummy tuck I think you'll be much happier in the long run.

Best wishes!!

ok I had just the panni done and I can say I am not that flat tummy like all the others are saying but oh my do I feel better I really do I have no rashes and I can wear a size 8 pants yes I have a muffin top but I do not mind it (in some things I do ) but in most 90 % of the time I don't I know that 11 pounds of skin that was hanging there smelly and rashey and just making my lower back hurt was over I am very happy I did what my insurance was paying  I too like you could not get financed for the full TT so I did what I could and if the rest is suppose to be done it will be done at a later date in time! Just do it and be happy with what comes off I don't know too many of us that r doing this to wear 2 piece bikins well not me any how!  Just do what you can! And live life and be happy!

Just wanted you to be aware that, depending on a couple of factors, you may find yourself in the position I was in... I had to have a REVERSE TT (a true "T" shaped incision with the top bar of the "T" under the breasts) after the panni... and many plastic surgeons will not do one.  You can still opt to try a regulat TT and just pull the skin together with one vertical incision, but might not get the results you expect.  OF course, there is no guarantee that you will get the results you expect even with a reverse TT, either...
