CBL vs. Tummy Tuck & Lipo?
Hey!
I lost 250 lbs (was 477.7 lbs) and I am now stuck with a LOT of loose skin... i have one plastic surgeon who wants to do a full CBL... but the other wants to do a tummy tuck with lipo on my flanks because he thinks a CBL will leave me with an odd/flabby/non existent butt.... I have a LOT of skin to remove from my tummy- and I just dont see how avoiding the CBL is an option... any thoughts? both my surgeons are in Beverly Hills...

Get some more consults. Shari (Jupiter8) had the front done and wishes she had done the back as well. I had an LBL and I don't have a flabby butt but it's small. And I KNOW I would have looked strange without the work in the back.

Consult, consult, consult until yiou are satisfied with what you can reasonably expect.
It's funny how our perceptions of our bodies change. I am now 39-31-39 -- plenty of swelling still -- but if I look at myself sideways, I feel like I have n'assitall following CBL surgery six weeks ago. But in reality, I already have very normal proportions even though my view of things is that I now have a flat butt.
I DO have a flattER but than I did -- but it's pretty normal.
On the other hand, loads of extra hanging skin rear-ward will make for all kinds of problems later on, and a mere tummy tuck will likely leave you with "dog ear" wound endings, which are also unaesthetic./
Go for as many consultations as it takes to be satisfied that you're doing the right thing.

Quite a blunt question, but do you have a saggy butt or excess flab around the upper hip type of area............ that can only be improved with a lower body lift, although it can be done in 2 or 3 stages if you don't want to have it all done at once.
I was 476 and lost about 230lb. In my experience you want as much removed as possible, all the way around the body.
Lipo is for removing fat and on MWL patients it is more likely to make the skin MORE saggy and loose. The only areas I have had lipo on are my legs for my leg / thigh lift and the pubic area as I had a bulge of excess fat there (not just a female problem).

I would highly recommend butt auto augmentation and/or possibly some fat transfer. They use your own tissue from your backside to fill in your butt cheeks. It gives your butt a natural curve. That was my concern after my LBL. I had done my research and knew that is what I wanted. I have seen lots of flat butts after a LBL so it does happen. I love having a little curve on my backside. It's not big either. I think it's much more feminine looking. Some folks who have a nice pear shape or a full backside before their LBL usually don't get the flat butt look. Definitely do your research and go on more consultations until you find a dr who will listen to what you want done.
Good luck!
