Hi all... just to introduce myself
Hi, I'm Alice from eastern NC. I've been lurking for a few weeks since I've been considering whether to take the next step in my WLS journey. Well, I jumped in with both feet today. I scheduled my LBL for Nov. 24th. I have lots of sick leave so I'll have 5 weeks off to recoup and go back to work after Christmas. I'm planning to have "the girls" fixed sometime in late winter or early spring.
When I started this journey, I just wanted to be healthy and feel good about myself. I have accomplished those 2 things. I have been stable now at 142-144 for about a year now. I'm happy at this weight, but not so happy when I see the loose skin and drooping butt and of course "the girls" are so small my DH jokes with me about shopping for training bras. I know he loves me no matter, but I want to do this FOR ALICE and nobody else. I feel like somehow this journey will not be complete until I get these 2 things done.
Anyway, thanks to all of you who have posted about your experiences. I'll be happy to receive any advice you want to pass on.

Hello Alice,
First of all CONGRATS ON YOUR LOSING JOURNEY!! I like that you said " This is FOR ALICE" and you are right. If we go ANY part of the journey and it's not for ourselves then we are NOT going to succeed. I, as you, have realized that the journey can only be continued by taking care of the OUTER left over me, AKA Excess Skin, LOL. I started off by getting a facelift & breast lift last year (My DM gifted me my new face/New life) and then last week I got my secret(SSSHHHH) deformed(for me) part taken care of. I had double Nipple Inversion surgery...and with THAT done I KNEW I needed to go the final step(for me) and I've scheduled my TT for Oct 21st... You have made it here and you will find alot of answers and others searching for answers...I know you'll do GREAT!! Come on in...The waters fine!!!

Hi Alice!
Glad you decided to share with us.....
CONGRATS on your weight lose and maintenance (that's the really hard part!).
I agree with you, I felt my journey would not be complete if I did not remove all the excess skin. I have LOTS of hanging skin........ooops, I should say I had lots 'cause I just had my Tummy Tuck done it removed all that hanging skin (what a difference!).
Good girl doing this for you!!
Keep posting...if you have questions fire away......the more you learn the better prepared you will be for surgery.
Some quick advice I'll share..........no matter what start packing in the protein 2-3 weeks before surgery. I normally get between 80-100 and I up'd mine to 100 -120 for the 3 weeks and really hit the 120 mark almost every day during the 2 weeks prior to surgery. I'm still packing it in help me heal and I have to tell you so far my recovery is going remarkably well (I'm 10 days post op). I've documented all of my surgeries pre and post op on my profile blogs....you can read them if you want to.
Best wishes to you!
Ruth
