Houston we have a problem...

I have been thinking for months about how to go about getting a body lift, etc.  I contacted the place I did my lapband and to my surprise, they said they would not be able to refer me to a PS.  I thought to myself, weight loss surgery 7-8 times out of 10 would most likely require some plastic surgery due to excess skin or that troublesome fatty tissues and they (the "counselors") could not refer me to a PS.  Please keep in MIND these ladies, themselves had a weight loss surgery done and had received some from of plastic surgery.  I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE TO WANTS TO GET A LAPBAND...NOT b/c of this situation, but their after care program SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways...

Im in Houston and a good candidate for TT and Inner Thigh lift.  I have googled doctors, but I have so many questions about pain, dog ears, corrections, insurance, hospital stays, time off from work, how will the surgery affect my band, how will i sleep, do i need to purchase a recliner to sleep, how will the binder affect my inner thigh lift, etc.; and i just feel very frustrated!  Frustrated that I will have a repeat of this sense of loneliness after my surgery (like I did with my lapband).

You need to look at Dr. Lomonaco here in Houston.  He's fantastic!  He posts on this board quite a bit as well.  Here is his website:  www.bodylifthouston.com  I am in the process of getting ready for my plastics and he has been great so far!

I work in the health field in Canada.  When people ask us to refer them to someone we give them a list of people but do not refer  to any one place in particular.  That would leave us responsible if anything was to go wrong.  Maybe that is the reason your original place does not refer?

Good luck with insurance....

I went to Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico.  Got good results and will probably go back for a face lift in early 2010.  He is very good.  Saved me about 30,000 from the US.

I had the same experience with my program here in Houston.  Don't trip - it's actually a good thing that they don't because PS are not integrated with most weight loss surgery programs - so if you got a jacked up result - they don't want to be held liable since they referred you.

One doctor I will tell you to STAY AWAY FROM - Dr. Franklin Rose.  He jacked my plastics up!

One doctor I will recommend - Dr. Reginald Buford.  HE corrected Dr. Rose's work and made me a VERY happy lady!!!  His staff is VERY good and have always been willing to answer all of my questions/concerns. 713-453-3003

Morning ladies,

Thank you all!!  I will get with Buford and LoMonaco...

PS is a case by case situation, so I thought that they would have a list or something.  It isnt in stone that I would go directly to them for work but I would have loved a consultation.  I will continue to shop around.

How is the pain management process with Dr. Buford and Dr. Lo?  I keep hearing horror stories about tummy tucks and it is FREAKING me out!!
