What hospital does Saudeda use?
I was once told that he used his own clinic, but it sounds like he uses a hospital. There are a few in Monterrey. Some are ghetto.. Some are ClubMED.. Does he have privledges at the San Jose? The San Jose hospital is the nicest, most luxurious hospital I have ever seen. It makes US hospitals look like the motel six.. Can you request that he use the San Jose? That hospital has travertine tiles in the shower and large class doors with brushed nickel fixtures, granite countertops, high speed internet acess, mahogony desks, a large window daybed for visitors, sculptures,etc.. I went there for my WLS with Rumbaut and would love, love, love to go again.

I am scheduled for surgery on Oct 3 . My surgery will be done at the clinic which is located really close to his office and the Hampton that I will be staying at after I leave the clinic. I have been told that all three places are within walking distance of each other . (Like a 100 yards apart or so ). I understand it is in a really nice and safe part of Monterrey. Several past patients have told me about getting out and walking to different places nearby to shop and eat.
I have seen pitures of the clinic but I am at work right now and can not pull them up to be able to forward them to you . However as nice as the clinic seems -- it is NO where like what you have described .
I can not tell you about if he can / or will use that hospital but the only way to know for sure is to email him and ask about it . He is very good about returning emails when he gets a chance. (Usually in the same day. )

Good luck

Johns-wife,
The hospital you are describing sounds beautiful! Here is a link to pictures of the clinic and operating room. Misty, another OH'er, has an entire website about her experience with Dr Sauceda, and she has documented it very well. Here is the link to the clinic pictures.

I hope that helps you! There are 5 of us that are having surgery by Dr Sauceda in early to mid October. We are all scheduled within days of each other, and it is going to be so nice to be able to support each other and keep each other company. I think most of us, if not all, are going alone.
You should join us in October!

I had weight loss surgery at that hospital and yes it is nice...When you push your call light they come running in multiples. I LOVED IT!!!!!! It depends on how you look at it as far as the location of your plastic surgery. Most doctors have a clinic they own/co-own . Which means they do service or have serviced the equipment. in addition they should be more familiar with the work space. Hospitals can be a a perfect environment for living organisms to multiply. Although,no matter where you have surgery, infection prevention should always be a concern. He has all the amenities from what I have heard and the technology to challenge any American Doctor. That is if your talking about Dr Saucedo located in Monterrey Mexico? Happy searching wish you the best.

If a surgeon is reputable, that would trump the hospital for me. Thing is, my big worry is the infection rate of hospitals, and plastic surgery clinics don't have sick, infectious people coming into them that the hospitals get.
I'm having trouble finding good numbers comparing infection rates of hospitals to clinics so far, but am leaning toward ps clinics at this point.
