Has anyone had Pro Bono Cosmetic Surgery??/?
I had my surgery March 2007. I now have this hanging flab that won't go away no matter what I do. I never reached my goal weight because I was afraid that my insurance (Ameriheath) at the time wouldn't pay to have the excess skin removed and I saw this lady on TV with all this excess skin and no matter what, her insurance would not pay for it to be removed. I only had a rash one time. I changed jobs the same year and the company insurance was Oxford and they didn't pay for the surgery regardless. As of July 2009, I was laid off from my job and now I have no insurance and I would like to have this excess skin removed so I can finally meet my goal weight as well as one day have children. I don't want to get pregnant with all this excess skin and have even more skin and weight after the child is born. I figure I would have a better chance to have it now since I'm on unemployment and have no insurance. Do you know of anyone that had their surgery pro bono? I plan on writing a letter to the plastic surgeons in my area along with pictures to see if they will do the surgery pro bono for me. I don't have money to travel so it will have to be done in NJ or PA. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
