Maybe the binders are the problem? How long and how tight did you wear yours?
I'm in a funk over the low energy and pain thing. But I'm wondering if the binders could be part of my problem?
This moment I'm lying flat on my back, in pain .... and it occurred to me to "release" my binders. I usually wear two -- and both of them as tight as possible. Is that probably an error? My thinking was, they'll inhibit swelling, and ensure that the wounds are held together in the absence of stitches.
Maybe it's possible to wear these too tight?
How did you determine how tight your binders shjould be? I've had one "garment" and one or two elastic and velcro binders on each day -- is tht too much? How would I know?

It's funny you should mention the binder as the cause for your pain. I am two weeks post-op from tt, bl with augmentation and inner thigh liposuction. A week post-op my doctor gave me 2 binders (more like girdles) to wear for my thighs and stomach (Veronique) in a size medium. I have been wearing that thing religiously until today; today I wanted to go to the mall with the family so I put on a flexee waist cincher size small. I was able to breathe and walk better with less pain.
I have red marks on my belly from the binders the doctor gave were it looks like the blood circulation was being cut off. I go back to see him tomorrow and I am going to ask him if maybe the binders are too tight.
Good luck with your recovery.

I wore one binder for six weeks, taking it off for an hour each morning after my shower. It was neither too tight or too loose. My surgeon selected the binder, it went on me moments after my surgery and I don't know what his criteria was. I am a "medium" framed gal and I had a "medium" binder.
I absolutely think it is possible to wear them too tight, especially if they are cutting the circulation. That could cause a whole lot of pain. And not be beneficial to healing.

My doctor told me you wear your binder tight enough that when you go to do something it reminds you you had major surgery and not to do anything stupid. It is not meant to to suck you in so you don't fall apart. I wore mine 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 6 weeks except when you took it off to wa**** or take a shower.
When my nurses first came out they were putting it on to tight and i started getting a wound like a fold at the waiste and the doctor thought it would be a permanent scar but i was using flamazine on all my surgery sites and put it on that to and it healed and went away totally. that was caused however from the binder bending in the same spot all the time and being tight.

I think you can wear them too tight. I did wear a compression garment for up to six weeks. I still wear when I swell, it just feels comfy. If it felt to tight I took it off or where a less loose one. Too tight meant it hurt or I wasn't breathing normally.
I found compression garmets at target, the Hanes brand.

When I go to see my surgeon they remove the binder, and then help me put it back on. I thought it should be tight and they told me no, that it only needed to be snug.
Usually at the end of the day I begin to swell out of the damn thing and I make it a little loose.
I sure hope this is the cause of all your discomfort so that maybe now you can have some relief,,,you have been quite the trooper.
I guess I've been lucky. I have a bad time where I'm very uncomfortable and swell a bit in the early evening in the pubic area, near the drains but that's been the worst of it for me.
Stitches come out today and I'm thrilled! My PS actually drew a line on my binder where he wants it tightened to. I only take it off to shower daily. I'm 10 days out and now down the 12 pounds he removed during surgery.
