Hernia Repair and TT...tricare approval?

Hi!  I had gastric bypass on 10.1.08.  I went from 245 lbs to 115 lbs.  I have some extra skin, but not enough to get skin removal covered by my insurance.  I have Tricare Prime.  I just recently found out that I have an umbilical hernia.  I have read that hernias can be repaired when doing a tummy tuck.  I'm curious to find out if anyone out there has been in a similar situation and had Tricare cover the TT when the hernia repair is also done.  There is no way I can afford to have the sugery done on my dime...and financing is a no-go as well.  This seems to be my only possibility.  Any words of wisdom and help is greatly appreciated!!

All you can do is put the request in to see what they say.  Is the skin causing you any issues?

I have tricare prime too...are you near a military hospital?  I ask because I had my wls surgery at one- no tricare approval needed, and my surgeon just put in my referral to plastic surgery- again no tricare approval required...at the military hospitals the surgery is at the discretion of the surgeon only...

At mine they do a TT for anyone who wants one after they get to goal without any lengthly process...good luck to you!
