Good Morning...
I absolutely hate my arms...I really want to have surgery on my arms this winter so that they will look good next summer for sleeveless shirts. But need tips on how to get my insurance to pay. Any ideas?
Also I want to lose 40 more pounds - is it too soon to consider plastics? Plastics is absolutely necessary for my arms and huge tummy.
Thanks for any advice.
Shelia
Good Morning Shelia,
I totally understand what you are saying. I have lost 192 pounds and actually hated my body more after my weight loss than when i was heavy. I was saggy and floppy and all i could do was see myself fat altho everyone else was telling me how great i looked. I had an anchor tummy tuck and breast lift June of this year and now going back September 21st to have my arms done.
I kept flip flopping back and forth for my first surgery of breasts or arms. I hated them both. I wear 3/4 sleeves even if its 100 degrees outside in the summer. I wanted everything done at once but my doctor didn't want me under for more than 6 hours and the tummy tuck and breasts were 5.5 hours so my arms could not be done at the same time. I know some women on here have them all at once and it all depends on your doctor. I have recovered very well from the first round of surgery in June and my scarring is next to nothing aleady so I can hardly wait to see what it will look like 6 months after.
As far as when to consider plastic surgery???? I know you won't want to hear this because i didnt but i would wait till you have lost all the weight you want and stabalize for a minimum of 6 months. Thats what most surgeons suggest. the way my doctor explained it was the closer you are to your ideal weight the more you see the difference. When we were heavy and lost 20 pounds we would see it but not to the affect we see it now when we are thinner. you don't want to go through all the surgery and recovery then lose 40 pounds and look saggy again. Sometimes its necessary for us to get maybe a tummy tuck part way through because of the hanging skin and health reasons. IF you can put it off I would try to but it doesn't mean you can't start with some consults, then you will know who you want and prices etc and be ready for it.
I wish you the best in your decission.
