I'm taking the camera and the lap top so I can document and track all this.  I'll post something as soon as I can.
Thanks for the good vibes

I've been thinking of you. It's normal to have the nerves. It will be so worth it and you will love your new tummy. I'm sending all my good vibes and thoughts your way. I'll see you Friday!

Well Ruth, here we are, finally.  I think you waited about the longest around here to get yours.  I'm so glad that you decided to go local and I know this surgeon will do a great job on you.  Don't worry - we all got through it and so will you.  You've prepared well and I know you are ready.

All the best and keep in touch with us when you get out.

You'll do just fine!  I was so nervous too and then when it was over I was so glad it was over with.   It wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated which was a relief.  Just stay on top of the meds.  It didn't take me long at all to get used to a flat tummy either!  LOL

Good luck!

RNY on 07/19/07 with

I could have written this same post on Thursday night. I had my lower body lift on Friday and now I'm a few days post-op.

Does it hurt? Yes. Luckily, the vicodin makes the pain turn into discomfort. It hurts when I laugh, cough, or try to get up too fast. I'm depending on the strength in my legs and arms to get around.

The results are amazing, even with all the swelling I have a tummy that is flat and I have never had that in my entire life. My new belly button is so weird too. My hips are so narrow, I can't believe it's really me! (There's pics on my profile)

Take a back scratcher with you!!!! The morphine left me so incredibly itchy after surgery I scratched welts into my arms, back and legs. Eventually they added benedryl to my IV and it knocked me out.

I was on a catheter and did not have to get out of bed to pee.

I was so sleepy and sedated that I couldn't post online til I got home. You may not need the computer.

I'm going to dig out my back scratcher since you are the second person to suggest this.......I'll spare Matthew the chore of having to deal with it. LOL!!

I actually asked my Dr's nurse if I could have a Foley but she said they don't do that cause they want me out of bed as soon as possible.    I wish I could have one....at least for 1 day..or 2.
Oh well......
I'll make sure they keep popping the pills in every 3-4 hrs!!!!!

Thanks for the tips!
