This is it.....One more day and then I go in for my Tummy Tuck and breast lift (Weds morning leaving the house about 5am).
I've been doing ok but now the nerves are starting to kick in...........mostly normal nervousness so far.....
I've had enough surgeries to know the routine but from what I've been reading this one is a pretty painful recovery and that makes me nervous.....

I'm so excited about the idea of getting rid of the excess skin around my gut but not looking forward to the pain.  .I just keep telling myself the pain is only temporary and the results will be long lasting!  Besides if I take my meds on schedule I should be pretty good.

How weird is this........I even thought to myself tonight will be the last night I go to bed with all this skin around my tummy.....will I miss it?........I think not!!  but I bet it takes some time to get used to seeing a flat tummy (something I have not seen in at least 25 years).

I've got all my stuff ready to throw into an overnight bag, including PJ's,the freshette, chapstick, toiletries, etc, etc .  I'm taking my toilet seat riser to the after care facility (just in case they don't have one in the room.....I'm not taking chances!).  and of course I'm taking the camera and laptop so I can document and track all of this for future newbies........

Am I forgetting anything?
Send good vibes this way........

The only thing I would add is a back scratcher.  Comes in real handy not just for scratching your back but for helping reach stuff.

Good luck.  You are going to do great.

HI 'Ruth,  its normal to be nervous.  you will be just fine.    A month from today  you will be glad its over and looking good.    I am schduled for surgery on 9/14 and have jitters as well.
What is the after care facillity you speak of.   I live alone and have no help, i will be haveing a brachioplasty and abdominoplasy.   I know I will need some help.   Please advise.
Thanks so much

I know up in Jersey and in NY there are lots of Rehabilitation centers which do the same sort of thing.
The After Care place I'm going to is basically a nursing home/rehab center which has a special wing for "aesthetic recovery".  I've noticed a few of the surgeons I've had consultations with work with local facilities.  Ask your surgeon if they can recommend an "after care or rehab center" for.  It is usually A LOT less money than staying 3 or 4 nights at the hospital and you get plenty of 24 hr care.
Best wishes to you!
