BB piercing after tummy tuck

Hello All...

I am now at my 3 month mark post tummy tuck and this is the point that my surgeon has said that I can have my BB pierced..

I wonder if any of you that have had tummy tuck done and have had their BB pierced afterwards could give me some insight on how it felt and how it healed..

The ring of scar tissue around the BB does not stretch well, so the jewelry tends to pull out and can make a worse scar. I recommend getting the piercing done well away from the scar, and sometimes bend the jewelry myself if I am doing the piercing. Also, jewelry that does not catch or pull is better than the long dangly stuff !

I hear ya sister! I lost mine too during my tt... and I am not the least bit sad that I can't pierce it!

I did mine, photo is in profile. I had my LBL in Aug 2007 and I had the piercing in April 2008. No problems with anything. It took about six months to heal. Totally painless - I had no feeling in my belly button at the time. I was told that it's important to go "deep" with the piercing. . . .

I don't know if I am the lucky one. I know many who have posted here and have spoken to me at my support group who have had piercing failures after TT or LBL though.

I did and loved it and every time I had it done it rejected, 3 strkes and your out in my book. I figured it was my bodies way of saying No to bb piercing. I would love to do it again since it will always be numb and not hurt but I doubt it would take this time either. I hope yours does.
