tummy tuck
Well, the only issue was that big ol' thing hanging off my front ... and the skin splits underneath it. Gross! As far as post-op, it was excrutiating the first time I tried to get out of bed. (Don't freak; many people don't find it that painful.) But as a lay there, I thought, I don't care how bad it hurts, I would not take back that big ol' fat wad of a belly for anything in the world. And each time I got up it was easier. And now, six years later, it and the breast reduction I had at the same time (before wls) were two of the best things I've ever done for myself in my whole entire life. Go for it! You will not be sorry. I feel like a normal human being for the first time in decades! --Dorothy

The only complication I've had has been drain related. They took my last drain out 3 weeks ago, and I formed a seroma (fluid under the skin) that I have to get drained out once a week (by a suctioned needle). Other than that, it's been the best thing I could've done for myself. I was in pain for the first week, and after that I only needed pain med if I over exerted myself. I popped a stitch from sneezing last weekend, and that's been pretty painful, but I'm healing really well and everything looks great!
I'd say if you have a lot of extra skin, and you have the money or insurance to pay for it. There's no reason not to do it!
