My doc cleared me for Mederma and Silicone strips at 3 weeks when my incisions were all healed over. No more scabs or peeling.

My surgeon told me to start using them at my 2 week check up. I didn't wind up getting them until after 3 weeks, so... like the other person said, whenever you're healed and not scabbing or peeling anymore is a good time.
Because I have a high probability of keloiding, my surgeon told me to order strips from www.silon.com, apparently it's the best silicone technology right now. They're a little expensive, but they last 4-6 weeks and are really easy to use. My scars look great so far too.

Thanks! I'm going to check those out! My port scar from my Lap Band which is 19 months old looks bad. Not a keloid but very apparent and purple. I'm going to try these for my PS!
