medicare and plastic surgery.

does anyone know if medicare covers that, I have only lost 28 pounds so far I have about 70 or so to go but I was just wondering I have already been to the dr. for rash under stomach and breast in which the whole 12 years that' I 've been overweight I've never experienced that before I was so embarrassed. but it's already been noted in dr's. files so I can imagine when I lose the rest of the 70 or so pounds. then with my arthritis that will be more weight on my back and knees , so any info will help. Bad news, in my experience and that of those I'e talked to post surgery, NONE whatsoever is covered unless the extra skin is causing a life threatening infection. I have a meatball sized keloid on my right ear that is painful and raw and medicaid wont even cover that!!!! It's only a $500 40 min procedure btw!

from what I know about medicare, they don't pre-approve, so you can have it done & if they don't cover you can get stuck with a nice bill
