Since you're asking for advice . . . . . . why hurry? Get yourself in top physical condition before you go unde the knife. It certainly can't hurt, and it can't take more than what ... a couple of months?
Healing does NOT get easier as we get older. Start out at the top of your game -- really!!!
I'm 49, just had a circumferential somethingorother, and the pain is a b*tch. I seem to be healing just fine, but my tolerance for pain is not at all what it was, years ago. Maybe it wasn't that great years ago either, and it's been tempered by time, but I'm in pain NOW two and a half weeks post-op, and trying hard not to be a baby about it.
You're right about the "getting older & not easier"! I feel like I'm finally back into the game and so don't want any setbacks to bench me! Sooooo many things to do each morning.....loving life....BUT....wouldn't I love it more without the squishies???!!!! (just reflecting out loud!) thanks for letting me vent!
Take care of YOU! Your advice back attcha with the getting back in good physical condition. Give yourself healing time! Baby steps! Love your time off with some good books and creative chilling activities!
