almost 4 months out, getting steroids in scars on friday (i hope)
I wore the ace wraps 24-7 for about two weeks, then at night for a week or two. I cover the hypertrophic scars with hypofix tape to support the area or when I am wearing gel strips, but am taking a break on those this weekend just to let my skin breathe. I sleep on my back with both arms elevated even now (at 7 weeks post op). I am going to try sleeping normally this weekend.
Hated the compression garment and didn't wear it-- he told me not to if it bothered me. I didn't have any removable stitches-- mine are all dissolvable-- so I can't help you on that front.
