I am thrilled with my results and I didn't not have an anchor cut and had quite a bit of excess skin. I think it all depends on your surgeon a lot too.

I think a persons age and the number of years going all the weight adds to the mix.

Probably true Ruth. I mean i guess I *could* be tigher. When I sit down it isn't like rock hard tummy.. I have some skin i can pinch... so I donno? Regardless glad I do not have the vertical incision.

I think it depends largely on your initial body shape. I am VERY hourglassy-- big chest and hips, tiny waist-- so an LBL or regular under-the-gut TT wouldn't have conformed to the curves, or addressed my huge upper belly mess. You really have to go with what works for your own shape in these deals, I think.

Yep, I agree.
And I really think it's important to take into account what the surgeon recommends...afterall we have to trust them with our life when operating so it makes sense to trust their advice too.

I definitely want the anchor cut. I want to be narrow, not just flat. I'm 58 and couldn't care less about the scar; he can cut me anywhere he needs to give me a tight back, waist and abdomen!

I love your attitude about the scar.....at first I was not so thrilled but now I think I'll be ok with it given the benefits I'll get.
Wish I felt a little better about the inner thigh scar......oh well.....just have to accept it.

Anchor cut on July 29th 2009 & LOVE IT!
The scar on my belly is much smaller than the scars left in my heart from looking at skin I couldn't make disappear on my own. I would do it over and over again! I totally transformed my body.

Add me as a friend and you can see for yourself my results. I had an extended tt with muscle tightening and a brand new belly button. I had plenty of excess and lax skin but my doctors did an amazing job and wouldn't do the fleur de lis because in his experience there was too much risk of the join area seperating. I love my tummy tuck, its the best thing I could have ever done for my body image.
