Just an update on how my surgery went Wednesday. Piece of cake! I really expected more discomfort than this & when i woke up I had NO nsusea or pain. I have the two drains & my dr put in two little catheters (ON-Q) that are placed under the skin and release constant numbing meds for approx 4 days. I asked about a binder, dr said no, didn't need one. He ended up taking almost 5 lbs of skin off and was able to get more than he originally thought. I would say the most uncomfortable part is the tightening of the muscles. I feel like I got socked in the gut.
Other than that, everything is going great. I am draining well, peeing, (not pooping, but working on that) & I also got to take a shower the day after surgery which felt awesome! Still taking the pain meds every 4 hrs as directed and sleeping in my own bed- no recliner-
Overall I am completely thrilled with my results. Anxious to see the swelling go down and everything relaxed in its place! I have some before and after pics I will post later today!

Congratulations on your successful surgery! Isn't is wonderful to not have the stomach anymore? I had a TT done on June 15. I think it is strange how all the doctors have different instructions. I had my drains in for a week and was not allowed to take a shower until they were out. Also, they put a binder on me out of the surgery and said I had to wear it 24x7 for two months to keep the swelling down.  I still wear it to bed becasue it is hard for me to turn over without it.  I am finally able to sneeze without it bringing me to my knees. The most painful part has been the muscle tightening.

I love how clothes fit now!!   Terry
