Back in my binder
This week I started swelling pretty badly above my waist...I also have a bit of pain in my incision line (I have an anchor TT so I have a vertical incision as well as horizontal) my upper tummy was so swollen - I don't recall it being this bad ever. I spoke with my PS yesterday and he said to start wearing my binder again, I was planning on doing that anyway. He wants to see me this week and see what is going on. I am so much flatter today, it's amazing actually how much the swelling has gone down.
I know swelling can last a really long time, but I didn't know I could get this puffy. I wasn't sure if I was getting fat or had swelling - so I am glad it's gone down today

Glad to hear you aren't fat! LOL Actually I was thinking about your post the other day about how you didn't know if it was swelling or if you were just getting fat. You know I can see that after so long after surgery where one might just think they are done with their swelling and any extra weight might be gained weight. I guess you get to a point where you get used to seeing the extra puffiness day after day and when you don't see any changes or decrease, then you think it's here to stay. I'm sure it was a good feeling to see a flatter belly!
Thanks ladies! I was originally in my binder for a fairly long time, 8-9 weeks, I can't remember, but it was a while and at first I really noticed being out of it and the days I was more active my swelling was bad. I was find for a few weeks then bam! SWELLING. The first thing the PS asked me was I doing more than usual, but I am not, so I am not sure what is going on. Just all part of the process I guess.
My TT was 14 weeks ago today. I still wear my binder at night. I still have swelling later in the day though. Actually, I even wear my binder during the day sometimes if I don't have to go anywhere. Sometimes I'm not sure the binder is really helping with the swelling. But....if I don't wear it, the skin above my belly button starts to fell tnder after a few days. Strange.
