Opinions about Plastics
I'm DeWitney and I usually frequent the Oklahoma board but I posted this there and one of the ladies suggested that I post this here too and get some of your input on the subject.
I saw my surgeon yesterday and we discussed my options for PS. He will preform a full lower body lift and TT once I reach my goal weight of 138 lbs. That's only 28lbs to go! and I have a 3 month window to do that in. At that point we will get all the documentation in order and start submitting all my stuff to get the insurance to pay for the PS, and I've already talked to them and I know that with the right paperwork...they will. The best part is that if I can get it done before the end of the year all my deductibles and out of pocket maximums have been met for the year. So I wouldn't have to be out any money for it. That's all very exciteing and I'd be stupid NOT to do it...but now i'm starting to wonder if I'm too young to have a TT. I'm only 25...what if I decide I want to have another baby someday...? I have a 4 year old, and I've said since he was born that I didn't want anymore...but now I'm seeing this really great guy, who seems like he might be "The ONE"...but he for sure wants to have kids someday, and if things stay as great as they are right now...I would very easily be persuaded to have another. But if I have already had a TT...won't that totally ruin it? Will I end up needing another one down the road....Anyone have any insight or advice?
Please keep in mind that the same surgeon who preformed my RNY is going to be doing the TT so he knows exaclty how far out I am and while he says it won't be easy on me, he feels that I will be just fine.

As far as the pregnancy goes, that's a really common concern. I did a lot of looking around on that subject before I had my TT, because I know for sure that I'm not done having kids. My surgeon told me that the skin might stretch some, but it won't "ruin" the TT, and it definitely won't be the way it was pre TT. My mom is a midwife and she sees lots of pregnant women who have had TT's, and she says pretty much the same thing. I plan on trying for our next baby maybe next summer or fall. I want to be at least a year post-op before having another one.

I can't help with the baby question but did want to comment on a couple things.
Don't be surprised if Insurance turns you down......it's not easy to get them to pay, especially for arms, thighs, butt lift. I say that only so you can prepare yourself for the possibility of having to pay. I've been 100% self pay.
You mentioned the surgeon that did you RNY is doing your plastic surgery too. Is he a board certified plastic surgeon? You want to be sure you have someone specially trained in the art of plastic surgery and specializes in weight loss patients....this way you get the best results.
Best wishes to you on your journey.

I have not had plastics yet.. but normally I would think someone is just plain crazy for wanting a baby after tt. However... I can completely relate to your situation of possibly meeting the right man. I had the same exact feelings about having more babies when I met my husband. We ended up having one child together and I got my tubes tied (its great by the way, no birth control worries). So I would have to say live your life in the moment and get the tt, if you want it. Altho , not sure how far you are out from your bypass but you might want to wait until you stop losing... gppd luck!
