I'm curious if anyone did short term disability through their job to cover their time off for surgery.  My office is pretty lenient on that sort of thing, if it's for a surgery, but I was curious if anyone had any issues, especially those who went out of the country for surgery.  I just can't afford to go 6 weeks without any money coming in.

I got short term disability for 4 weeks w/ the possiblility of extending it after they speak w/ my dr. after my first follow-up appt. and possibly extend it for 6 weeks. I get paid 100% for the full time I'm off.

I got short term dissability pay.  I was off 3 weeks from work.  No problems.  It does take a while for the check to come in.  I was back at work before i saw that money.  I planned ahead.  good Luck.

Were any of your procedures covered by your health insurance? I am afraid that since mine is purely cosmetic, STD won't pay. It would be nice because I also get 100% if approved!
