NJ Temporary Disability

Have anyone been successful with receiving Short Term Disability while recovering from TT/BL?

I am scheduled for TT/BL on August 25th (4wks away).  I plan on  staying out of work for six to eight weeks afterwards.  I've also been blessed enough to save just in case Short Term Disability denies me for payment.

Have anyone been successful at receiving benefit while recovering from plastic?

I am in Michigan.  I am on Short Term Disability right now.  Mine was approved.  It has to be documented that it is medically necessary.  At first, they told me it was cosmetic and they would not pay.  I had to tell them it was reconstructive and that the insurance company sees it that way.  They wanted to see the documentation from the doctor saying it was medical.  As soon as they saw that they approved it.
