Swelling in upper thighs after TT?

I'm just over 3 weeks out from my tummy tuck and breast lift and today I noticed major swelling in my upper thighs and hips and my weight shot up 8 pounds in the past couple of days. It hasn't been an issue until today. As each day passes I feel like I can do more but I've not done anything more than shopping.

Is this typical once you're able to get up and about and move more? Any tips that will help with the swelling? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hey Renee; I had my TT two weeks ago and I am very swollen all over! my weight went up from 140 to 160! I feel better today but still very swollen.  Not sure if is "normal"  I have been moving around the house cooking, resting, walking the dog, etc. I hope you feel better.  Hugzz

I've heard some people say their swelling got worse after the first week.  I can't say that was my case because I've been swollen since day one.  The dr removed 10 pounds and I have only seen about 5 of those reflected on the scale. People tend to swell in different places or all over. It's so frustrating for me too because I can barely button my pre surgery pants and I start work next week.  I've definitely had to learn to be patient with this surgery!

I am 4 weeks out from a thigh lift and due to not wearing my garment 24/7 I have noticed more swelling....both on and off the scale.  I know that if I am doing a lot of standing or sitting, I will be wearing my garment for a while longer as it helps keep the swelling down.  good luck.

The swelling is an accumulation of fluid. I pretty much spent most of the first 2 weeks in a recliner with my legs up. It seems the more I'm up and standing for long periods of time the more I swell. I know that I need to increase my fluid intake. I'm not drinking enough to help and push the fluids through.

Hi Renee - I did have some swelling but more or less I realized later that is mostly a comparative thing.. now that my stomach is flat my thighs.. well they look ginormous to me.  It is the whole do the curtains now gotta do the flooring syndrome for me.  Even in buying clothes.. I fit ok in most but before I was more apple shapped now I deal with "will it fit in the thighs and not be big in the waist?" argh... never perfect. LOL.

Hang in there some of it will go down but you may notice this phenomenon too. Sadly.
