Gas after TT Tips

Hello

I am 4 weeks post-up after a TT with an anchor cut. Everything has gone well except for bloating and gas. At times I couldn't wear the prescribed binder because the internal bloating and gas caused too much discomfort. I've tried gas-x and rolaids with very limited success. My boyfriend suggested that I stick to alkaline, or non-acidic foods, and that really seemed to help; as I can often trace re-bloating back to an unsuspecting acidic foods...so my diet of late has been oatmeal, eggs, lactose-free milk, cheese and potatoes .

Does anyone have any additional tips to reduce gas from their experience or prior posts; How long can I expect this to be an issue?

Thanks a bunch

Just a quick question...are you chewing gum?  If so, stop!  This will cause gas!

Otherwise, the best thing you can do for this type of deep gas is to walk it out.  It's honestly the only way it's going to go away!

I was given instructions from my surgeon to avoid gas causing foods. I also am a Duodenal Switch patient so my gas causing foods are carbs. I'm sticking with mostly proteins. The oatmeal and potatoes might be your culprits.
