Once you have plastic surgery (specifically BA/BL and TT), are there any immediate post op restrictions for being in the sun, and if so, for how long?

thanks!

I was told to slather them with sunscreen even if they are under a swimsuit or clothes when you plan on being out any time at all...but normal day to day errand running just keep em covered.

I was told that the heat/sun causes your scars to deepen. Use sunscreen if you have to go out and avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.

Hi Kim,

My PS gave me no restrictions, she just stressed putting sunscreen on the scars, even the TT scars that are under clothes I am supposed to put sunscreen on.  Every doctor has a different belief, so it's best you just speak to him/her.  I am honestly very lax about putting anything on and my scars are healing well.

Best of luck!!!
