"Popping" your stitch line..
I am 3.5, almost 4 weeks post op. My PS told me to now rub my stitch line in a circular motion with force while using a moisturizer or lotion. He wants me to break up the scar tissue so it heals better.
I was doing it today and felt a "pop". It happened a few times in a few places all along my stitch line. My stitch line runs from hip to hip and right above my "mound". (he he, heard someone else call it that, think it's cute.)
Has anyone else had this happen? Did your doctor tell you to break up the stitch line?

I have also felt this... I think it is the stitches become more dissolved and u are in essense breaking them down.. make sure your surgeon is ok with this. You are still fairly early out.

I am only 5 days out, so I still have stitches and have not been advised on aftercare yet. My Dr. did tell me that the stitches on the top are just for the very tiny small top layer of skin, and underneath are the thousands of disolvable stitches, and that they would dissolve in about 360 days. When I laughed, he said, really, not kidding, that is what the manufacturer states! Interesting, I thought.
