How the heck are you able to wear underwear?????
All week I've been wearing loose baggy pj pants, sweats. Well... today I thought it was time to wear some panties because tomorrow is my 1st post op appointment, don't feel like going commando. Well......OUCH!!! I can't!! My drains are positioned weird (not above the pubic line, not at the sides of my hip,nooooooo....they're smack in the middle! Right were the leg folds when you sit. So tomorrow I was planning on wearing an easy shirt dress, but I don't want to go panty-less. Any Ideas? On another note, I'm still wobbling and swaying a lot when I stand/walk for too long (10 min +), is this normal? Thanks in advance-Jessie
Hi Jessie,
I feel your pain with the drains!! I have 3 and mine are not in the same place as yours. Mine are in the pubic area, right under the incision. I have been wearing underwear though. It kinda hurts and burns the area a bit, but I wear a bigger size for a little more room, so that I can put part of the tubes in them.
Maybe try some boy short underwear. Try that, also, maybe tape the tube to your leg so it doesn't move. That's all I could think of unless like you said, go commando.
I don't know about the standing thing going on with you, maybe your body telling you to relax
My drains were all placed in the mons area (dr likes to hide the scars)..anyway, I still have two and haven't worn undies in 4 weeks and I wear dresses. I just get up as gracefully as possible. The idea of cutting a hole in old or cheap panties sounds good if you are concerned. Good luck!

Weird!! I had my drains in the mons area and I wore panties ASAP (like day 2) because I couldn't handle the drains moving too much - hurt like hell. I would just have the drains shaped like a "U" inside the panties and that kept them from moving.
