Tomorrow I will be four weeks post-op and I'm really feeling better. However, last Friday I began to feel pain in my left side when I got up or turned over. Then I notice that that side was harder than the right and there appeared to be a large egg on that side. The nurse on Monday said it was normal and could be caused from moving too much. Not a problem because I knew I had an appt today. My doc didn't know what it was either. He said it could be some build up fluids, fatty tissue, or a blood clot. He said he would tap it to be sure. I think he used the biggest needle he had in his office. It didn't hurt until he began digging to make sure he had all the fluids out. I jumped up off that chair and was crying like a baby. The fluid 30 cc came out brownish but he didn't run any labs because I'm cash pay and he didn't want to create a bill for me for nothing. I have no temperature or any other problems. However, if some develop I will be forced to pay what ever the charge is. Since I was such a cry baby and I'm not even shamed about it his nurse gave me a new binder for free. The swelling has alreay gone down and I'm praying it doesn't return again. If no other problems develops I won't have to see him again until Oct. Yes, I was released to return to the gym on Monday for 30 minutes three to four times a day. I'm so happy my life appears to be returning to normalacy.

I'm glad he was able to drain it and there were no complications.

Thankse area is a little sore this morning but I think that's because he had to dig with that needle. Also, it's bruised and still hard like a egg.  I will watch it until Monday and go back in if I need to.

It sounds like a seroma.  I had one that needed to be drained a couple of times after a surgery once.  Once the fluid decreases the pain should get better.

Good luck!
