Lower Body Lift
Good Morning!
I can tell you from experience that there is criteria that must be met before BCBS will even consider covering the procedure....
1) Pannus must hang below the pubic line
2) Must have recurrent skin problems that have received medical treatment for a minimum of 6 months without resolve.
BCBS is very fickle about what they will and won't cover. Even with the above items that would only potentially get you coverage on the panniculectomy portion. For the buttock lift you have to have additional problems that have their own set of clinicals.
So if you are having issues with the skin overhang, start going to your PCP every 3-4 weeks to have them document these problems. Once you have 6 months of documentation make an appointment with your chosen plastic surgeon and have them start the insurance approval process.
