Hey Jessica,
TOM = Time Of Month. I can't remember where I first heard that but I'm thinking it was somehwere on this website, probably the lap-band board.
I normally am about a week late however this month was right on time so I think surgery does do something to the normal cycle. Bless your heart for starting in the hospital after RNY....that could not have been fun!

I wear my compression garment day and night, just take it off to shower and then will leave it off for about an hour. Which Hanes garment did you get? Full body? Cami? Where did you order it? My spanx type garment is not getting much use, I think I'll go to Kohls this week and see if I can find some Flexies that are better than the Spanx.

Yay Jodi! Sounds like 'normal' is just around the corner for you!! I was thinking I'd go to the mall and walk some starting next week myself. Way to hot to walk in the heat with all the swelling.

My swelling is about the same but I have one area just below the lowest part of the scar that is more swollen than anywhere else, and appears to be a tiny bit red. It's the top of my pubic area and feels a little harder than the other areas. Not sure if this is normal or not but will watch it and decide by this afternoon or tomorrow morning if I need to call the Dr. I don't want to be a worry wart but don't want to be caught without a Dr on the long holiday weekend either.

ok yep me too TOM was always called my monthy friend why r we calling it Tom???
Yes still swollen and TOM came and went and came back again very light but enough to make just a mess! I had a dark discharge  for a couple of days too? weird ? I am still wearing my binder I have a couple of friends that sware the more I wear it the better results I"ll have but I do not sleep in it the whole night! about half the night then I get up and remove it!  I feel very tight even with the binder on all day long it's not so swollen that I can't stand it but I do use a ice pack a few times a day I don't want to say the ice pack help alot but every little bit helps! I do think the heat has lots to do with it and I do notice the more water I drink the less swollen I am! thanks lets keep each other informed! we need each other without each other here who do we have to make sure we are on track!
bye for now my FRIENDS!!!!

Morning Shirley!
Sounds like we're all working on our individual formulas LOL We're trying whatever will help! One thing I did not do yesterday was drink enough water! I've already started on it this morning and am determined to do better!
TOM = Time Of Month. :)

I am right there with ya ladies, I was three weeks out on Monday and over night I had gained 7 lbs then the next night 2 more.... now I am down 3. It is such a rollercoaster. I have been taking bromaline, drinking lemon water and eating pineapple but it isn't helping. The binder is on 24/7 except to shower and Ive been walking for an hour a day (was doing 1-2 hrs/day before surg.) I can't wait for the swelling to go down!
You know it's bad when the jeans I had to stuff my apron into are tight now with no apron!
Wishing you all to be flat and not swelling very quickly!
