Tomorrow I go for my tummy tuck at 8:30 in the morning.  I am really starting to get nervous and scared right now.  I wasn't even this scared for my gastric bypass or my gall bladder removal.

What do I bring to the hospital.  I will be staying overnight.  This is what I have.

Loose pajamas to come home in.
Brush
tooth brush
i-pod
some protein snacks (I work midnights, so I am not sure if I will be u*****t)
crossword
pads(just in case)
scrunchie

Also, I was wondering was everyone put on an antibiotic?

Thank you in advance!!

Hi Erica,
How exciting for you! I was anxious too, much more so than when I had my band or anything else I've had done. All minor compared to this.

I would bring a pair of socks just in case the hospital does not give you any. It gets cold in the holding room and OR and you will probably need them! Also take some chap stick, your lips will be very dry afterwards. Be sure to wear slip on shoes. You'll need to have some that are very easy to get off and on and require no bending.

I'm sure others will give you more ideas.

They gave me antibiotics through the IV while I was in the hospital but I did not have a RX for one to take at home.

Best of luck! Post when you feel up to it and let us know how you are.

If you have any heartburn problems, take something for that. I used to take Rolaids and would have killed for one, it took me 2 hours in the middle of the night just to get some Mylanta. Yes to the antibiotics, I got my prescription filled in advance and also for my pain medication. Make sure to have stool softeners on hand & start taking right away. Good luck, you will love your plastics!!

Sounds like you pretty much have it covered.  If you want your own pillow...bring that with you.  I also brought granny panties so I could fit them over my binder!!

I was placed on antibiotics for 2 weeks while i had the drains in.

Best of luck to you!!
